Tideway Systems Foundation Software

Tideway Thumbnail Tideway Systems are a small, but growing company focussed on Application Service Discovery configuration management solution for large scale companies with complex IT infrastructures. I was employed Tideway to evaluate how different customers used and wanted to use the product, to develop personas and user scenarios around those users and prototypes for working with the development team to help prioritise and direct development.

IT Hound Web Site

IT Hound Thumbnail IT Hound wanted a very quick online presence to complement their magazine advertising campaign. I was engaged to generate a quick web site that announced their presence to their customers, helped productise their diverse range of services into concepts that were meaningful to the customers and created a feel that reflected their corporate and personal values.

Amphora Research Patent Evidence Software

PatentSafe UI Thumbnail Amphora Research are a small software company selling products into the Life Sciences Industry. The company wanted to give their PatentSafe software product a radical facelift in order to successfully compete in bids for contracts with large corporations and to address usability issues which had been raised by their customers. I was engaged to heuristically review PatentSafe and redesign a usable, professional user interface.

P4PI Business Consultancy Web Site

P4PI Web Site Thumbnail P4PI is a new consultancy company started by a senior performance improvement consultant with over 20 years in the computer industry. P4PI needed a compelling web site to differentiate their services from the large number of quality manager turned consultant startups and from the large turnkey consultancy practices. P4PI approached me looking for help with articulating their online message.

Sun Microsystems Blade Server Products

Sun Microsystems Blade Server UI Thumbnail The Sun Fire B1600 Blade Server was Sun Microsystems's first foray into blade computing. The blade server contained a network in a box. The system administration of the platform included not only looking after 16 blades (individual computers), but management integrated Ethernet Switches and System Controllers. I lead international teams developing innovative user interfaces for managing this platform.

The Quality Timber Decking Company Web Site

QTD Web Site Thumbnail The Quality Timber Decking Company were looking to enhance their web site to present a more professional and upmarket impression of the company. Their existing site comprised of a few basic pages showing pictures of completed projects, timber samples and contact details. It lacked consistency and defined style. I worked with the Company to transform their online presence into a showcase of their quality products.

Synovation and Blue Amp Web Sites

Blue Amp Logo Thumbnail Blue Amps are an exciting new range of boutique guitar amplifiers from a new Design Consultancy called Synovation. The Blue Amp products are in a class of their own in terms of price performance. Synovation approached me to design both their Blue Amp and the Synovation web sites. I am currently working on the Blue Amp site, which is due for launch in late Spring 2005. Keep posted for progress updates.

Sun Microsystems SNMP Agent for Server Management

Netra Servers Thumbnail At the time of the internet explosion, Sun Microsystems were churning out entry-level and mid-range Netra and Sun Fire servers for the ISP and Telco market. Customers were demanding remote management of the pizza boxes (thin servers in racks). I lead a team which developed a platform SNMP agent. The MIB interface became the company standard for the management of platform hardware and the agent architecture was portable to any UNIX platform.
